I stepped out of the elevator on the 5th floor at the Whitney to be greeted by Monday and Wednesday of “Days of the Week” by painter, Carmen Herrera.  One bright color set in black.  Powerful.  I imagined how effective it would be when applied to my own geometric forms. At the same time, I still have this hankering for riots of color.  It’s there, peeking through black and around the backs of the work.
